As the summer season winds down, Ocean City businesses are reporting a strong 2026 marked by steady visitor activity, full accommodations and well-attended events.
The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce said business owners from several of the resort’s key sectors shared positive results during a recent board of directors meeting. Reports came from representatives of the lodging, restaurant, retail and events industries.
The overall message was encouraging, according to the chamber: Restaurants and shops remained busy, accommodations filled and summer events drew strong attendance. Businesses also reported continued interest in Ocean City as a destination for visitors and families.
“We are very pleased with what we are hearing from our members,” chamber President Patrick McMahon said. “Our businesses put in an incredible amount of work to make the summer season successful, and it is great to hear that their efforts paid off.”
McMahon said the season’s success reflected the combined work of Ocean City’s business owners, employees, residents, volunteers and visitors.
“None of this happens because of one business or one organization,” he said. “It takes all of us.”
Although the peak summer season is ending, the chamber is reminding visitors and residents that Ocean City businesses remain open throughout the year.
“Our message now is simple: The summer may be over, but Ocean City is not,” McMahon said. “We have businesses that are open throughout the fall, winter and spring, and there are plenty of reasons to visit Ocean City beyond the traditional summer season.”
The chamber said it will continue working with members and community partners to promote Ocean City as a year-round destination, support local businesses and build on the momentum of the 2026 season.
The organization also thanked its members, residents, visitors, volunteers and community partners for helping make Ocean City a place to live, work, visit and do business.
