The Gallery at the Ocean City Arts Center presents abstract contemporary painter, Ekaterina Vygolova. The show opens March 3rd and runs through March 28th. A “Meet the Artists” reception will be held on Friday, March 13th from 7pm to 8:30pm. The Gallery is located in the Ocean City Arts Center, 1735 Simpson Avenue, 2nd Floor, Ocean City, NJ.
Ekaterina Vygolova is a New York City–based contemporary artist whose work has been showcased, sold internationally, and featured in published platforms. Her practice spans both exhibition and applied environments, with artworks placed in residential and professional spaces throughout Manhattan.
She has participated in major international art fairs including Art Expo New York (2024, 2025), Hamptons Art Fair (2025), Spectrum Miami (2025), World Art Dubai (2024), and Superfine Art Fair (2025). Through both exhibitions and independent programming, Ekaterina continues to expand her presence across global and community-facing art spaces.
Ekaterina says, “I create woven textile works and clay pieces that explore form through touch, structure, and rhythm. My fiber practice is rooted in building surface and dimension through weaving, knotting, and layering, drawing from traditional techniques while approaching them in a contemporary context. Working with clay introduces a physical dialogue between control and unpredictability, allowing me to shape grounded, tactile forms that contrast with the flexibility of fiber.
Beyond the studio, I extend my practice through participatory experiences that center on making as connection. I host creative gatherings where participants explore painting with wine or coffee, as well as textile-based techniques such as macramé and knitting. These communal acts of creation reflect my belief that art exists not only as object, but as process and shared experience. My work ultimately explores presence — with materials, with space, and with others — and affirms the relevance of handmaking in a digital age.”
Again, the show runs from March 3rd through March 28th. The Ocean City Arts Center is located on the second floor in the Ocean City Community Center at 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City, New Jersey 08226. Hours of operation are 9am to 9pm, Monday through Friday and 9am to 3pm on Saturday. The Arts Center is closed on Sunday. For further information, call (609) 399-7628.
