William “Bill” Ackerman, 72, of Galloway, New Jersey, passed away at his home on September 15, 2026.

Born July 31, 1954, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late John and Jacqueline Ackerman, Bill made Galloway his home for more than 45 years.

Bill worked at Lenox China for 25 years, where he formed many lifelong friendships. He later worked at World Class Flowers and Galloway Dodge. After suffering a major stroke in 2007, he was forced to retire.

Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of his beloved Eagles. He spent many days with friends at Bulldogs watching the games and cheering on his teams.

Bill also had a passion for politics and his community. He served on the Galloway Township Council and as Deputy Mayor and was honored as Republican of the Year—an accomplishment of which he was very proud.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Ernesto) of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania; his son, William of Bangkok, Thailand; his beloved grandson, Romeo; his sister, Dianne Hauck of Dornsife, Pennsylvania; and his former wife, Sherry, with whom he shared a caring and special bond.

Bill will be deeply missed by his family, lifelong friends, and all who knew him.

Services will be private for the family. A celebration of Bill’s life will be announced at a later date, when family and friends can gather to share memories and pay their respects.
