Adam Stanley Miklovis, 89, a retired U.S. Navy Captain, passed away peacefully at his home in Galloway, New Jersey.

Adam was a proud first-generation Lithuanian American, born in Philadelphia to Tony and Nellie Miklovis. He attended Northeast Catholic High School and went on to study engineering at the Drexel Institute of Technology. His passion for photography and his commitment to serving his country led him to Officer Candidate School and, ultimately, to a distinguished career in Naval Intelligence.

During his military career, Adam served aboard the USS Intrepid and USS Forrestal and was a member of Squadron VFP-62. Throughout his professional life, he worked in the defense industry while continuing to serve actively in the Naval Reserve. His dedication, intelligence, and strong sense of duty were hallmarks of both his military and civilian careers. In his retirement, he was active with the Civil Air Patrol, and as an officer with his local Veteran’s group.

Above all, Adam was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Dee Miklovis; his three children, Chris (Jim Whitford), John (Nancy), and Amy Boyle (David); seven grandchildren; two step-sons, Scott Scholes (Tammy), David Scholes (Karen); four step-grandchildren; and his cousin, Edward Kazikaitis. His grandchildren and step-grandchildren brought him tremendous pride and joy.

Adam will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to his family, service to his country, and the many lives he touched throughout his 89 years. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and the countless memories they will cherish forever.

Services took place Saturday, August 22, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Absecon.
