Ocean City officials welcomed the unofficial start of summer last Friday, May 24, with an Unlocking of the Ocean next to the Music Pier. Hundreds gathered to watch the festivities as a ceremonial wooden key was turned into the sand, followed by the Business Persons Plunge. Local business owners marched into the ocean, to the strain of “Pomp and Circumstance”, to celebrate the long-awaited return of the warm weather.
