New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) President Christine Guhl-Sadovy joined Egg Harbor City officials and Verizon representatives at a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, December 6, 2024, to celebrate a $3 million broadband infrastructure project that will bring high-speed internet access to previously unserved and underserved communities in Atlantic County including Egg Harbor and Hammonton Township — a major step forward in closing the digital divide.
The project is part of the NJBPU’s historic $40 million New Jersey Broadband Infrastructure Deployment Equity (NJBIDE) Pilot Program, which will expand broadband access to more than 9,000 locations statewide.
