Business Buzz

It’s great news for Hamilton Commons which is located at 160 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing. Chuck E. Cheese, Ross Dress for Less, Marshalls, Big Lots and the rest of the retail neighborhood are getting a new neighbor: Grocery Outlet. The retail center has been faced with several vacant stores within the past few years. The Grocery Outlet will serve as a great niche anchor store for the center. The target opening is for early spring of 2024.
Grocery Outlet is a national chain company that was established in 1946. It was founded by Jim Read. He started his first store selling military surplus at deep discounts. Now from that modest beginning, the 3rd generation is at the helm with a thriving business consisting of over 400 stores with 1.5 million customers per week.
Grocery Outlet competes against the mega stores by offering fantastic deals which come from their adept buyers who search for the best deals. The deals often come from surplus items and inventory product overruns. The company boasts that their buyers source everything from fresh meats and produce to natural and organic items, all at “WOW deals.”
Grocery Outlet chose the Hamilton Commons due to the demographics, location, and the great surrounding retail stores. Mays Landing and the Atlantic County community will soon have another option when shopping for dinner.
