I’m sure we all know and love the Ocean City Boardwalk. Known for its classics and overall iconic summer feel, generations of visitors return each year for the same pizza slices, saltwater taffy, rides and family traditions that have made the resort a summer staple.

While the OC boardwalk proudly embraces its history, there’s always something new popping up between the familiar favorites. From new treats to try to new rides, there is always something new to see and enjoy. So, whether you’re a longtime visitor or planning your first trip of the season, here are a few newer spots worth checking out during your next stroll.

Scoops and Sweets by Kilwins

If your perfect boardwalk day ends with ice cream, candy and a little indulgence, Scoops and Sweets is a must-visit. The shop combines several shore favorites under one roof, offering hand-dipped ice cream, sweet treats and plenty of options to satisfy a summertime craving. It’s quickly become a popular stop for families looking to cool down after a day in the sun. Visit it at 928 Boardwalk.

Dead End Bakehouse

Known for its Bay Avenue location, Dead End Bakehouse recently expanded to the boardwalk, bringing its handcrafted bagels, creative sandwiches and fresh-baked goods closer to beachgoers. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast before setting up your beach chair or looking for a midday coffee break, the bakery has become a welcome addition to the boardwalk’s food scene. Dead End Bakehouse is located at 600 Boardwalk.

OC Lobster Pot

Seafood lovers now have another reason to make a stop on the boards. OC Lobster Pot opened at 984 Boardwalk, serving lobster rolls, seafood boils, sushi and other coastal favorites. The restaurant adds a fresh seafood-focused option to the mix of traditional boardwalk fare and has quickly drawn attention from both visitors and locals.

Surfer Supplies at Surf Mall

One of Ocean City’s most recognizable surf brands expanded its presence when Surfer Supplies opened a new location inside the Surf Mall. The longtime local business has been serving Ocean City surfers since 1962, and the new shop gives visitors another convenient place to browse boards, apparel and beach gear while walking the boards.

The new faces of Wonderland Pier

While many visitors were saddened by the closure of Wonderland Pier, the property has already welcomed several new businesses. A new pizza shop, bike rental operation and arcade have helped bring fresh energy to the north end of the boardwalk while the property’s long-term future continues to take shape. For visitors who haven’t ventured to that end of town recently, it’s worth taking a walk to see what’s changed.

Part of what makes Ocean City special is its ability to balance tradition with new experiences. While the iconic establishments will always be part of the boardwalk’s charm, these newer additions ensure there is always something different to discover. So, the next time you’re making your way between the rides, shops and ocean views, consider adding a few new stops to your summer routine.
