ATLANTIC CITY — Fundraising through Mayor Marty Small Sr.’s two inaugural galas has surpassed $1 million, providing support to nonprofit and community organizations across Atlantic City.
Small announced Tuesday that his May 30 inaugural gala, “Faith. Resilience. Redemption: The Future is Ours,” raised more than $459,000 for 10 local organizations. Representatives received checks during a presentation at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, where the gala was held.
The mayor’s first inaugural gala in 2022 raised more than $611,000. Together, the two events generated more than $1.07 million for Atlantic City causes.
“I set the bar extremely high for this year’s gala, and while we did not reach our ambitious goal, I am incredibly proud that we were still able to make a significant impact for these wonderful Atlantic City organizations,” Small said.
He thanked the people who attended, organized and promoted the gala, as well as those who contributed to the fundraising effort.
According to the city, proceeds from the 2026 event were distributed after expenses to organizations serving young people, senior citizens, veterans, the arts and other community initiatives.
The Atlantic City Police Athletic League, the gala’s main beneficiary, received $56,000. Other awards announced by the city were:
- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., $35,000
- Atlantic City Senior Citizens, $35,000
- The HOPE Foundation, $35,000
- Create 48, $30,000
- AC Elite Football, $30,000
- The Omega by the Sea Foundation, $30,000
- Saracini-O’Neill Foundation, $25,000
- Atlantic City’s Bangladesh community, $25,000
- Kenneth B. Hawkins American Legion Post 61, $15,000
The gala’s theme was inspired by Small’s 2026 State of the City address and reflected what organizers described as Atlantic City’s continued progress and focus on building a stronger future.
The event was organized through a collaboration involving the city, the Mayor’s Inaugural Gala Committee and Masterpiece Advertising.
During the check presentation, Hard Rock Atlantic City President George Goldhoff praised Small’s commitment to supporting the community.
