The former Fischer Flowers building at 2322 Shore Road has been rescued. After months of potential prospects, finally the best candidate has come forward: Roula Hanna.

Hanna is not new to the building. She was the floral designer for Fischer’s for more than five years. Now she is coming back as the owner of her own business, Hanna Flowers.

It is always fantastic to see an employee turn into an entrepreneur. It’s one thing to work in a business, but now we will see a wonderful person blossom into an owner with full responsibility for every aspect of the business.

Roula has been recognized for over 14 years for her outstanding master skills in both silk and fresh designs. She will share her passion to serve the community with her commitment to the fine art of the floral business. Seeing her work, I have all the confidence that she will succeed.

Roula will offer everything from simple daily flower specials for those who want to surprise their loved ones, to elaborate wedding, funeral and special event designs. Keep an eye on the target opening, which is expected to be on Dec. 1. You can reach Roula in the meantime at 609-892-6734.

Cornerstone Corporate Center 1201 New Road Linwood welcomes PJ’s Coffee. Owners Wayne and Jean Heaton are retired from the healthcare industry and live in Brigantine. Wayne is an Army veteran.

During his corporate career he traveled, often finding himself in coffee shops prior to an appointment. He always admired and appreciated their warm and inviting culture. It was his inspiration to open a coffee shop based on a friendly environment, where coffee meets community and friends.

PJ’s Coffee is a franchise headquartered in New Orleans. Founded by Phyllis Jordan (PJ), the company’s mission is to create unique coffee blends in small batches. They still only roast small batches to ensure quality.

PJ’s is the originator of the Cold Brew, a brewing process that reduces acidity in the coffee. You will also be able to get something to eat while you are there. The local PJ’s will feature the beignet: a soft, pillowy French pastry with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, and breakfast sandwiches and treats. It will include egg bites, ham/egg/cheese sandwiches, and bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches. Lunch menu will include their specialty Cuban sandwich, club, and turkey/Swiss sandwiches.

The opening will be Nov. 20. In the meantime, you can learn more about PJ’s at PJScoffee.com or call 609-569-4914.

Remember this holiday season to shop at your local small businesses!
