The man, the myth and the local entertainment legend — Ken Schaffer — has officially opened the doors to the new home of Ken Schaffer Entertainment at 910 New Road in Northfield.
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Northfield Business Association marked the occasion with a grand-opening celebration, networking mixer and ceremonial ribbon-cutting. Mayor Erland Chau joined Schaffer, association members and representatives of the local business community in welcoming the award-winning entertainment company to its new location.
The celebration reflected Schaffer’s personality and approach to business: energetic, welcoming and always centered on having a good time. Guests mingled, enjoyed refreshments, toured the eclectic new office and even competed in a few friendly games of pinball.
Ken Schaffer Entertainment is a well-known South Jersey provider of DJ and master of ceremonies entertainment, professional lighting, photo booths and virtually everything needed to create a memorable wedding, celebration or corporate event.
Schaffer and his team understand that successful entertainment involves much more than simply playing music. It requires reading the room, engaging guests, keeping an event moving and creating the kind of atmosphere people will remember long after the final song.
I can personally speak to the quality of Schaffer’s work. Ken Schaffer Entertainment provided the entertainment for my son Bryan’s wedding at Renault Winery several years ago. Ken and his team helped make it a fantastic and truly memorable celebration.
In addition to operating his entertainment company, Schaffer has enjoyed a long career in South Jersey radio. He has been involved with WIBG Radio since 2009 and currently serves as an evening host and sales director for WIBG’s family of stations, including Wibbage FM 94.3, Hot Country 101 FM and WMID Oldies 1340 AM.
After purchasing the Northfield building in 2025, Schaffer set out to create something much more interesting than a conventional business office. The result is a colorful, fun and eclectic workspace filled with pieces from his longtime personal collection of arcade games and local-interest memorabilia.
In early 2026, Schaffer enlisted the help of former radio client and longtime friend Mike Fattizzi, who joined the organization as director of business development.
The Northfield office now provides shared sales space for WIBG and gives the radio stations a convenient Atlantic County location for meeting with clients. It also serves as the business and sales office for Ken Schaffer Entertainment and Cape Square Arcade.
Cape Square Arcade is part of the Cape Square Entertainment complex on Route 9 in Rio Grande. The family entertainment destination brings together movies, bowling, arcade games and other activities under one roof.
Although Schaffer’s businesses may serve different audiences, they all share an important theme.
According to Schaffer, everything he does revolves around hospitality, entertainment and fun — and he would not have it any other way.
That philosophy is evident throughout the new Northfield office. It is a place where business can be conducted in a relaxed and creative environment. The pinball machines, arcade games and memorabilia are not merely decorations; they are conversation starters that help clients and visitors feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
As a proud member of the Northfield Business Association, Schaffer hopes the new location will become more than simply an office. He plans to welcome additional networking mixers, business meetings and small-group events to the space.
The grand-opening celebration demonstrated exactly how well the concept can work. Local businesspeople came together to make new connections, strengthen existing relationships and support another business investing in the Northfield community — all while sharing plenty of laughter and friendly competition.
Congratulations to the man, the myth and the legend, Ken Schaffer, and the entire Ken Schaffer Entertainment team on their grand opening. Their new Northfield home is a perfect reflection of a company that has spent years helping South Jersey families, businesses and organizations create memories that last a lifetime.
