MAYS LANDING, NJ — On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, a 16-year-old juvenile from Atlantic City, NJ, with the initials J.D., was charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated manslaughter and one count of second-degree leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death in relation to the August 22, 2026, head-on motor vehicle collision that caused the death of Robert Barr, Jr., 54, and Alice Stilwell, 67, both of Egg Harbor Township.
Follow-up investigation was conducted, including a search warrant for J.D.’s person (buccal swab) and a search warrant for the Mercedes Benz G-Wagon. Multiple airbags throughout the vehicle were removed, a portion of the windshield in front of the driver’s seat was removed and the vehicle was examined for latent prints. The airbags and windshield were sent to the New Jersey State Police Laboratory, and the latent fingerprints were sent to the New Jersey State Police AFIS.
A DNA laboratory report was received from the New Jersey State Police that revealed J.D.’s blood was located on the steering wheel airbag, the driver side curtain airbag and the front windshield sample. The latent fingerprints recovered from the steering wheel were also a match for J.D.
