Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City is celebrating its 45th anniversary this month, marking nearly half a century as one of the East Coast’s premier gaming and entertainment destinations. Since opening in 1980, Harrah’s has welcomed millions of guests, introduced world-class dining and become a cornerstone of Atlantic City’s hospitality scene.
Over the past five years, the resort has undergone a period of growth. All hotel towers now feature stunning new rooms and suites, with the Waterfront and Atrium towers receiving the most recent upgrades. The casino floor has been reimagined with a modern aesthetic, and The Pool has been refreshed to enhance its iconic ambiance.
In addition, Harrah’s has expanded its culinary offerings with a lineup of celebrity chef restaurants, including Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay, Chicken Guy! by Guy Fieri and Buddy’s Boardwalk Empire by Buddy Valastro. These join Gordon Ramsay Steak, which opened in 2018 and remains one of the city’s premier fine-dining destinations.
Harrah’s is also home to some of Atlantic City’s most famous nightlife destinations, including The Pool After Dark, which continues to attract world-class DJs, celebrity hosts and partygoers year-round. Building on that reputation, the property recently introduced the VooDoo Lounge, a bold new venue that adds to the destination’s robust nightlife and entertainment lineup.

A Commitment to Community and Sustainability
Harrah’s Resort and its sister properties, Caesars and Tropicana, have long been committed to doing their part for Atlantic City. In 2024, they contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours — valued at $68,000 — and donated more than $8.6 million through property giving, plus $140,000 from the Caesars Foundation.
Their efforts support food security, education, workforce development and sustainability, making a lasting impact on the neighborhoods, schools and people that shape the city. Ongoing partnerships include, but are not limited to, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Southern Branch, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City and Covenant House Atlantic City.
On the sustainability front, Caesars Entertainment completed a large-scale solar energy project at Caesars and Harrah’s in 2023, reinforcing the company’s environmental leadership. Additional initiatives across the three properties include energy-efficient upgrades, waste reduction programs, green building investments and the installation of electric vehicle charging stations — all part of a shared mission to build a more resilient, accessible and environmentally conscious Atlantic City.
A Lasting Legacy in Atlantic City
“For 45 years, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City has been woven into the fabric of this city,” said Gregg Klein, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Harrah’s Resort. “We’ve grown alongside Atlantic City, building a legacy of hospitality, entertainment and community impact. This milestone is a tribute to the Team Members, guests and partners who’ve helped shape our story — and to the future we’re proud to keep investing in.”
