Four Atlantic Cape Community College Hospitality Management Program students have earned scholarships from the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Foundation (CRDAF) and the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association (GACCA).
The scholarships awarded to sophomores Lilly Guest, Charlotte Johnner, Clive Morgan and Renata Riesenberg will assist each of them with his/her tuition and expenses at Atlantic Cape.
“We are incredibly proud of these outstanding students who represent the excellence and dedication of our Hospitality Program at Atlantic Cape,” said Chef Joseph Sheridan, director, Academy of Culinary Arts and Hospitality. “Their hard work and passion for the industry have earned them this well-deserved recognition, and we look forward to seeing all they accomplish in the future.”
Guest, Johnner, Morgan and Riesenberg expressed gratefulness and relief when notified of their scholarship awards.
“Earning this scholarship will help me further my education in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. It will provide me with the opportunity to access resources, experiences and connections that are going to benefit my personal and professional growth,” said Guest, a resident of Ocean View in Cape May County.
“As an international student and mother balancing academics, leadership roles, and family responsibilities, this support eases my financial burden and allows me to stay focused on my education and studies,” said Johnner, a native of Germany who now lives in Northfield.
“This scholarship will allow me to focus on my studies without the burden of financial stress. This opportunity will open doors for personal and professional growth, enabling me to contribute positively to my community,” said Morgan, a native of Jamaica living in Cape May Court House who earned his A.S. in Business Administration last year and returned to Atlantic Cape this past fall to study Hospitality.
“This will reduce my financial stress on the classes I am taking over the summer and it also looks great on a resume,” said Riesenberg, a native of Connecticut who now lives in Cape May.
The GACCA and the CRDAF created this partnership to distribute scholarships for education in the hospitality industry and to promote the value of that education. The scholarship program acknowledges and rewards academically successful students who have chosen a field of study related to the hospitality and tourism industry; grants scholarships to students enrolled at selected colleges based on specific criteria; and acknowledges students who excel in academic life, choose the hospitality industry and demonstrate a unique ability to reach out to others through personal initiatives.
