Here are some excerpts from our Coastal Conversation:
AS: What inspired you to create the Shore Women’s Network?
LE: I have gone to networking events for over 25 years and there is always something special about women helping and inspiring other women.
AS: What was your vision when you first started, and how has it evolved over time?
LE: I wanted women to “connect” whether for business or to make new friendships. Often both happen. Each month different women showcase their business.
AS: How would you describe the impact the network has had on women in the South Jersey community?
LE: It empowers women. We learn from each other and support each other.
AS: What sets the Shore Women’s Network apart from other networking groups?
LE: Every month I have a different woman speaker from the area. We try to make it interactive so we can all learn from our experiences.
AS: Can you share a moment or success story that stands out to you?
LE: A moment for me, just this week, was listening to a dynamic asset management company present wealth management ideas which inspired me to revisit my retirement plan with fresh eyes.
AS: What challenges did you face in building the network, and how did you overcome them?
LE: The biggest challenge was to get the word out about our group. It takes a village to make that happen.
AS: How important is community and connection, especially for women in business today?
LE: Community and connection is everything when building a career and a business. Anything women can do to help each other is a win-win!
AS: How do you continue to grow and keep members engaged?
LE: By making it fun, interactive and exciting. Each month is different and it keeps you wanting to come back for more. I am often told how much people look forward to our event each month.

AS: What advice would you give to women looking to step outside their comfort zone and build connections?
LE: I have heard the following quote and although I can not take credit for it personally it has always resonated with me. They call it the three C’s of life. Choices, chances, changes. You must make the choice, to take a chance, if you want anything in life to change.
AS: Looking ahead, what are your goals for the future of the Shore Women’s Network?
LE: I want to sustain the growth we’ve seen and continue to meet and support women as they follow their passions.
A special thanks to Lisa Evans for sharing her story and the inspiration behind Shore Women’s Network. Her dedication to fostering connection, support, and opportunity continues to make a meaningful impact throughout the community.
