On Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, Juan Gomez, 24, from Egg Harbor City, NJ, pled guilty to possessing CDS with the intent to distribute on two separate occasions and possessing a handgun while in the course of distributing CDS. The plea calls for five years in New Jersey State Prison with a one-year period of parole ineligible, followed by an additional five years flat in prison pursuant to a consecutive sentence.

On March 3, 2025, law enforcement searched two residences suspected to be utilized in Gomez’ CDS distribution operation. During the search, officers located two firearms; a variety of controlled dangerous substances packaged for individual sale at street level, including: 96 grams of cocaine, 39 grams of methamphetamine, 27 alprazolam pills, 50 suboxone films; and $5,952 in United States currency. One of the handguns was reported stolen from North Carolina.

The defendant was arrested but released on the charges.

On May 14, 2025, law enforcement observed Gomez engage in a CDS transaction. Officers conducted a stop and found Gomez in possession of eight grams of methamphetamine and one gram of cocaine.

The cases were investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office with the assistance of the respective local police departments.
