Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick will celebrate the 40th anniversary of their prolific records, “Ladi Dadi” and “The Show,” with “Ladi Dadi” being the most sampled song in Hip Hop history. Hip Hop royalty Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, and Rakim will perform their greatest culture-defining hits, while Black Sheep, Buckshot of Blackmoon, CL Smooth, Havoc of Mobb Deep, Milk Dee of Audio Two, M.O.P., Nice & Smooth, Onyx, Smif-N-Wessun, Reggae legend Supercat, and Treach of Naughty Nature will all perform their definitive anthems.
The unprecedented lineup represents what many believe to be the most prolific era of Hip Hop, which transformed the culture from the sound of New York to the sound of pop culture. Fresh off the heels of a sold out show at Radio City Music Hall in celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th birthday, three sold out shows at Newark’s Prudential Center, and last summer’s sold out residency at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, this show will mark the debut of “Pass The Mic Live!” in Atlantic City. Music impresario Steve Rifkind will join DJ Cassidy to co-produce the event, powered by Live Nation.

“Sharing a stage with twenty of my Hip Hop heroes will be one of my life’s greatest honors,” says DJ Cassidy. “Each one of these Hip Hop legends shaped who I am as a deejay, an emcee, and a music lover. Memories of warm weekends in Atlantic City hold a special place in my heart, so I am particularly excited to debut “Pass The Mic Live!” in this magical town during this magical time with the most iconic Hip Hop show of the summer.”
With his beloved brand, “Pass The Mic,” DJ Cassidy transformed how we experience our favorite artists and our favorite songs. The groundbreaking viral phenomenon, turned BET television series of specials, united an awe-inspiring collection of musical icons to sing along to their most iconic songs. Within ten episodes, DJ Cassidy passed the mic to two hundred twenty legendary superstars spanning five decades of music, including Earth Wind & Fire, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Nile Rodgers, New Edition, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Salt ‘N Pepa, Missy Elliott, Wyclef Jean, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan, and many more.
DJ Cassidy has since taken his show on the road with “Pass The Mic Live!,” headlining sold out arenas nationwide with artists such as Chaka Khan, Charlie Wilson, TLC, Boyz II Men, Bobby Brown, Ne-Yo, and Robin Thicke, in addition to a historic event in 2023 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall in celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary.
In July 2024, DJ Cassidy brought the trailblazing experience to Las Vegas for a one month residency at Planet Hollywood, featuring Hip Hop royalty Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Slick Rick, and Doug E. Fresh, with nightly special guests Akon, Public Enemy, Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Too Short, Warren G, and many more. “The Iconic Las Vegas Residency” marked the first of its kind, uniting an ensemble of Hip Hop legends for a game-changing event, redefining the art of collaboration, while channeling the spirit and aesthetic of old world Las Vegas mainstays like The Rat Pack.
After conquering the Vegas Strip, DJ Cassidy brought “Pass The Mic” to the world stage, acting as the first musical conductor of the Democratic National Convention Roll Call, curating songs for all fifty seven U.S. states and territories, and conducting the unprecedented 75-minute segment on live television viewed by 20 million people. With the viral Roll Call becoming the most talked about moment of the entire convention, The Hollywood Reporter declared, “DJ Cassidy may have just changed the face of presidential politics forever.”
To close out 2024, DJ Cassidy brought “Pass The Mic Live” to the world’s biggest New Year’s celebration, reuniting with his Las Vegas residency “Rap Pack” on ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” for a show-stealing, 12-minute, 13-song performance, recreating the Vegas experience for 25 million live television viewers.
Most recently, “DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live!” headlined the 2025 NBA All-Star Halftime Show at the Chase Center in San Francisco with a live televised center court tribute to The Bay starring Bay Area icons E-40, Too $hort, Saweetie, and En Vogue.
As a deejay, emcee, producer, and cultural aggregator, DJ Cassidy has solidified himself as the modern day maestro, our premier music man, passing the mic from artist to artist, genre to genre, generation to generation, uniting artists and fans alike through the spirit and sound of celebration.
