Chelsea Economic Development Corporation (Chelsea EDC), a nonprofit redevelopment organization founded in 2019, has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of two highly experienced professionals: Alice Woods and Stacey Jaskol, Esq.
Ken Calemmo, Chairman of Chelsea EDC’s board of directors noted, “Hiring qualified experts Alice Woods and Stacey Jaskol reflect Chelsea EDC’s ongoing commitment to revitalizing the Chelsea neighborhood of Atlantic City through strategic partnerships with residents, community organizations, and local businesses.”
Alice Woods has been appointed Vice President of Administration. A lifelong area resident, Ms. Woods will oversee financial and grant management, as well as personnel and other administrative tasks. She brings over two decades of nonprofit leadership experience across New Jersey and Philadelphia, having served in executive roles in the human services, health care, higher education, and arts and culture sectors.
Chelsea EDC President Elizabeth Terenik stated, “We are fortunate to have Ms. Woods join the Chelsea team. Her extensive experience in budgeting and grants will generate additional sources of revenue, creating long term sustainability for the organization.”
Ms. Woods will be instrumental in Chelsea EDC’s administration and management of Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program grant funds received through ACDEVCO from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. The partner organizations have received NRTC funds each year since 2021. The grant supports five core program pillars for the Chelsea neighborhood: Beautification and Safety, Career Pathways, Merchant Support, Home Ownership and Housing, and Community Building.
In addition to her fiscal role, Ms. Woods will be responsible for event coordination, community outreach, and metrics tracking. A graduate of Atlantic Cape Community College and Stockton University, Alice holds certifications as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She is also a passionate advocate for the arts and looks forward to helping foster a more vibrant, equitable, and connected Chelsea.
Stacey Jaskol, Esq. joins Chelsea EDC as Senior Counsel for Real Estate & Development. A highly respected transactional real estate attorney, Ms. Jaskol brings decades of experience working with nationally ranked law firms and financial institutions. In her role, she will focus on revitalizing vacant and blighted properties through partnerships among Chelsea EDC and developers, businesses and government leaders, and property owners. She will be responsible for Chelsea EDC lease agreements, developer agreements, and will help establish Chelsea EDC as a development entity.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Jaskol has served for more than 15 years as president of the North Beach Ventnor Residents Association, driving bold initiatives in community development, enhancing neighborhood appeal, and cultivating vibrant civic pride and spirit. A New York native, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, where she was a member of the Temple Law Quarterly.
Terenik stated “Ms. Jaskol’s background and knowledge will be invaluable in implementing the long-term vision of the Chelsea Board to become a viable development agency. She will assist the agency to reignite the beauty and safety of Chelsea through activation of vacant properties.
