Four talented teens from the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City took their music skills to new heights this summer at the nXt@DJX Summer Camp, Aug. 11-13 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Visit Atlantic City, MAD MUTZ Mozzarella Sticks, and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City,Club members Shamee B., Saadat H. Anayah P., and Nailah P.joined youth from across the country to learn from world-renowned DJ and educator DJ Hapaand his team.
Over the course of the camp, the teens gained hands-on experience in mixing, beat-matching, and live performance while also building leadership, teamwork, and confidence. The “4’s” they proudly held up during the event represent one of the camp’s core lessons: understanding the four beats in a bar—the foundation of DJ’ing.

“This was an incredible opportunity for our young people to see what’s possible when they channel their creativity,” said Tracey Triniwell, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. “The support from our community partners made this experience a reality, and we’re excited to see how these skills will continue to grow through our music production program.”
The Boys & Girls Club launched its own Music Production Program in 2024, giving local youth ages 13–18 hands-on training in songwriting, beat-making, and sound engineering under the mentorship of industry professionals. It is part of the Club’s broader mission to provide opportunities that keep teens engaged, inspired, and on the path to success.
