Thousands made their way to historic Bay Avenue on Saturday, April 25, for the 37th Annual Bayfest. Despite the overcast skies and windy conditions, crowds enjoyed a plethora of activities including live music and entertainment, amazing food vendors, dozens of crafters and local organizations. Special limited-edition T-shirts were also available with a specially designed logo, commemorating the 250th Anniversary of America.
This year’s Bayfest also attracted fans of live music, with three stages of entertainment. The Shore Thing Band played popular covers, while the Dead Reckoning performed songs by the Grateful Dead near the beach. Along Somers Avenue, crowds gathered to hear Latin jazz favorites and originals by Edgardo Cintron and the Inca Band.
For Somers Point, Bayfest is one of several large events spotlighting the town’s coastal and bayfront charm. On Friday, June 12, the award-winning Legacy Concerts on the Beach will return for their 32nd season, featuring an eclectic lineup of local and nationally renowned musicians every week. The Somers Point Farmers Market will also return to Somers Mansion on Saturdays starting May 16.
