The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is participating in the Pet Smart Charities National Adoption Week, March 24-30, 2025.
Visitors to Pet Smart at 271 New Road in Somers Point will have an opportunity to meet a variety of dogs and cats that are available for adoption from the Animal Shelter. Pets will be on site at Pet Smart on Saturday, March 29, 1-4 pm.
All pets adopted from the shelter receive mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Adopted canines also receive two free obedience classes.
Veterans who adopt a pet are entitled to receive a 50% discount on adoption fees which range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies.
“We appreciate the added exposure provided by this community outreach event in partnership with Pet Smart Charities,” stated Kathy Kelsey, Animal Shelter Manager.
Pet Smart Charities connect adoption partners with local Pet Smart stores by bringing pets of all ages, breeds, temperaments and energy levels into stores for meet and greet events.
