In a worldwide celebration of Bitcoin Pizza Day, Sparkable is hosting a local Global Pizza Party 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Tony Boloney’s. This event is part of PizzaDAO’s fifth annual Global Pizza Party, uniting over 20,000 attendees across more than 400 cities worldwide to honor the historic day when Bitcoin was first used to purchase a real-world item: pizza.
Back in 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz traded 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas, forever marking May 22 as a milestone in digital currency history. This day has since become an opportunity for communities around the world to gather and celebrate not only the evolution of cryptocurrency but also the universal joy of pizza.
“We’re excited to bring this incredible celebration to Atlantic City for the second year in a row and invite everyone to come out, enjoy some pizza, make new friends, and be part of this global movement,” said Shaun Smith of Ventnor, who is the Atlantic City coordinator for PizzaDAO.
The event in Atlantic City is open to the public, offering free pizza, music, and a welcoming environment for crypto enthusiasts, pizza lovers, and everyone in between. This year’s party also highlights the power of community-driven initiatives, with PizzaDAO having given away over $1 million worth of pizza since its inception in 2021, while supporting artists, developers, and local businesses worldwide.
