With a goal of galvanizing communities, showcasing solutions and strategizing for the future, Atlantic City is hosting the Pull Up 4 Peace Violence Prevention Conference at Showboat Resort from June 24th to 26th. Organized by the City of Atlantic City’s O.N.E. Neighborhood Evolution Anti-Violence division, in partnership with the City of Newark, the Institute of Research for Social Justice in Action (IRSJA) and the CVI Leadership Academy, this event brings together violence prevention leaders, frontline workers, policymakers, and community organizations to ignite a shared vision for safer, healthier and more just communities.
The three-day conference will feature keynotes and panels from national and local leaders like City of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and New Jersey State Office of Violence Intervention and Prevention Director Steve Campos; workshops offering fundamental tools, training and peer learning; think tanks to build shared strategy and policy alignment across cities; healing spaces for spiritual renewal, collective care and emotional restoration; youth showcases to uplift the next generation; networking and more. On Thursday, the entire community is encouraged to take part in a Peace Walk at 9:00 AM from Showboat Resort (801 Boardwalk) to the Sheila Y. Oliver Plaza outside Atlantic City’s City Hall (1301 Bacharach Boulevard). The complete schedule of events and more information, including how to register, can be found on the Pull Up 4 Peace website: www.pullup4peace.com.
