Artists and community members gathered at John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point for the 10th annual Art in the Park, a celebration of creativity.
Organized by the Somers Point Arts Commission, the festival featured an exhibit and sale showcasing paintings and photography. Visitors had opportunities to meet artists, view their work and purchase pieces.
Live music provided entertainment throughout the event, while art activities encouraged visitors to take part in the creative experience.
Young artists were represented through a Children’s Art Exhibit featuring work created by students from the Somers Point School District. The display allowed students to share their creativity with families, neighbors and festival visitors.
A judging panel awarded $1,600 in cash prizes to participating artists. Attendees had a voice in the competition by voting for the People’s Choice Award.
The event brought artists, students, families and residents together while highlighting the role of the arts in the Somers Point community.
The combination of professional artwork, student creations, music and hands-on activities offered visitors of all ages a chance to experience and support the local arts.
