On Thursday, Oct. 23, 2026, Dariana Gonzalez-Colon, 32, of Absecon, NJ, pled guilty to third-degree Aggravated Assault Against a Domestic Violence Victim, fourth-degree Stalking, and fourth-degree Resisting Arrest by Flight before the Honorable Daniel Kurkowski, J.S.C. The plea calls for a global sentence of four years in the New Jersey State Prison on the defendant’s three pending cases.

On Sept. 15, 2025, Absecon police were dispatched to the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and Station Avenue for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Officers approached the caller who was a bystander that found the victim of the theft injured on the sidewalk. The victim informed officers that she had given Gonzalez-Colon, her romantic partner, permission to use her car

earlier but asked for it back. When the victim asked for her car back, Gonzalez-Colon then became violent with the victim and assaulted her. Gonzalez-Colon then left in the victim’s vehicle leaving the victim behind.

On Oct. 2, 2025, Atlantic City police were dispatched to 1501 Atlantic Avenue for a report of a domestic dispute. Once on scene officers made contact with the same victim from the Sept. 15 incident. The victim reported that Gonzalez-Colon was continuing to harass her on multiple days, and the victim informed officers that she was in fear that Gonzalez-Colon would harm her.

On Oct. 11, 2025, officers from Absecon were conducting routine patrol and located the above victim’s motor vehicle parked in a nearby Travelodge Motel. When officers inquired if the victim was staying at the motel, staff informed officers that she had checked out the previous day with Gonzalez-Colon. Still needing to formally process Gonzalez-Colon on the Sept. 15 incident, officers approached the vehicle and located Gonzalez-Colon inside.

After being given clear instructions that she was under arrest, Gonzalez-Colon exited the vehicle and attempted to flee the police. However, officers were able to apprehend her following a short pursuit and place her into custody at that time.

Gonzalez-Colon admitted to causing significant bodily injury to the victim on Sept. 15, 2025; harassing the same victim on multiple subsequent dates placing her in fear for her safety; and fleeing police apprehension on October 11, 2025, during her plea.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 08, 2026.
