As part of the City of Atlantic City’s ongoing efforts to address homelessness and connect residents with essential resources, the City will host a free community wellness event this weekend in recognition of World Homeless Day. Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and the City’s Community Engagement Team within the Department of Health and Human Services announced details of the event during a news conference at City Hall. They were joined by representatives from SMC Physicians, the City’s partner for the initiative.
World Homeless Day is observed each year to raise awareness about homelessness, encourage communities to take action and highlight the importance of ensuring people experiencing homelessness or housing instability have access to support, services and opportunities to move forward.
In Atlantic City, Saturday’s event will bring many of those resources together in one location. The free wellness event will offer health services and screenings, information about housing, healthcare and public benefits, and connections to community resources for Atlantic City residents and families in need. Food will also be available for attendees.
“This will be a Great Day of health and wellness for the City of Atlantic City, made possible through the vision of our Health and Human Services Department and the generous support of Dr. Tamin Naber and SMC Physicians,” said Mayor Marty Small, Sr. “World Homeless Day gives us an opportunity to connect residents with valuable services, resources and support. I encourage everyone in our community to take advantage of this event, connect with the organizations and resources available, and make their health a priority.”
The World Homeless Day event in Atlantic City will take place Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at City Center Park, located at South Carolina Avenue and Bacharach Boulevard. This event is free and open to the public.
