Margate is filled with plenty of great places to grab a bite, but just down the street from the legendary Lucy the Elephant is a restaurant that brings together fresh Japanese cuisine, hibachi entertainment, and plenty of flavor: Miyako Sushi & Steakhouse.
Whether you’re in the mood for sushi, noodles, hibachi, seafood, or a classic Japanese appetizer, there are plenty of choices to explore. There are also plenty of beverages to choose from, including cocktails, Ramune Japanese soda, and a classic Shirley Temple.
With so many tempting choices, deciding what to order wasn’t easy. Hibachi is always a great choice for good food and a unique show. There’s something entertaining about watching your food being prepared right in front of you with big fires and fun commentary, making dinner feel like more than just a meal. It’s a great option for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to make an ordinary night out a little more memorable.
We settled on edamame, the chicken hibachi dinner entrée, and chicken yakisoba noodles. Our meal started with a simple but delicious side salad topped with a flavorful ginger dressing. It was a refreshing way to kick off the meal while we waited for our appetizers and entrées.

Not long after, the edamame arrived piping hot and generously sprinkled with salt. It was the perfect appetizer to share and one of those simple dishes that keeps you reaching for just one more handful.
Before we could finish the edamame, our entrées began arriving at the table.
The chicken hibachi was a standout. The chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, while the fried rice had just the right texture and seasoning. The plate was also loaded with a generous portion of vegetables, making for a hearty and satisfying meal.
The chicken yakisoba was equally impressive. Served on a large plate, the noodles were piled high with tender chicken and plenty of vegetables. It was a filling dish with the savory flavors you expect from a classic yakisoba.
What stood out most during our visit was how quickly the meal came together. We were able to enjoy our appetizer while watching the restaurant’s activity around us, and before long, the table was filled with colorful plates of food. There was plenty to eat, and the portions made it easy to see why Miyako is a popular choice for a full dinner rather than simply a quick bite.
With so many restaurants lining the busy streets of Margate, choosing where to eat can be difficult. But if you’re looking for dinner with a little entertainment, Miyako Sushi & Steakhouse is worth a visit.

The restaurant may be cozy in size, but the flavors are anything but small. With Japanese favorites, hibachi cooking, sushi, and a menu filled with choices, Miyako brings an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine to the heart of Margate, just a short trip from Lucy the Elephant.
