In the fast-paced world of food trucks, one company is rolling out the dough with made-to-order mini doughnuts and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

DonutNV began in 2014 as Cinnamini Donuts, a mall kiosk founded by Amanda and Alex Gingold in the Philadelphia area. In 2018, the business was renamed DonutNV and transitioned to a mobile trailer concept. The company began franchising the following year and has since expanded to more than 100 mobile units in at least 26 states.

The franchise is now serving South Jersey through Chip and Ruth Berdinis, who operate a DonutNV trailer based in Egg Harbor Township.

DonutNV offers a variety of mini doughnut flavors, ranging from powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar to more elaborate combinations such as Fruity Pebbles, chocolate Oreo and maple bacon.

The menu also includes fresh-squeezed lemonade, frozen lemonade, coffee and hot chocolate. Frozen strawberry lemonade is among the most popular beverage choices.

The local business typically experiences its busiest season from June through October, when warm weather brings customers to festivals, community celebrations and other outdoor gatherings. Although summer and early fall are particularly active, the trailer operates from February through December.

DonutNV does not have a traditional brick-and-mortar location. Instead, the company operates entirely through its mobile franchises across the United States and Canada.

The trailers are available for corporate events, weddings, school functions, block parties and other private occasions. DonutNV franchises also participate in fundraising events benefiting schools, charities and community organizations.

Customers can watch their mini doughnuts being prepared through the company’s signature “Watch the Donuts” window. The feature provides a firsthand look at the process and assures guests that their orders are prepared fresh.

South Jersey residents can find DonutNV at the weekly Food Truck Festival at Ski Beach in Ventnor on Wednesdays during the summer. The trailer also appears at community events and private gatherings throughout the region.

More information, including menu selections and upcoming locations, is available on the DonutNV website.
