Of course, no trip is complete without ordering the Mexican street corn. The street corn has become a must between my dad and me. Every time we visit, it’s automatically added to our order without even having to ask.

Tucked away in Upper Township, Custard Castle is one of those places that locals know well. During the summer months, seeing a line is almost expected — but the line moves quickly, and the reward is well worth the wait.
One feature I especially appreciate is the drive-thru. There are plenty of evenings when I’m driving home and decide to make a spontaneous stop without even getting out of my car. My usual order is simple: vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate.

Just over the 34th Street Bridge sits another local favorite that has become a regular stop for both residents and visitors alike: Yesterday’s Creekside Tavern.

Whenever possible, I try to schedule dinner around sunset. Watching the sun slowly disappear over the water while enjoying a meal creates an experience that’s difficult to replicate anywhere else. It reminds me why so many people fall in love with South Jersey.
Of course, the food itself never disappoints, but it’s the combination of waterfront views, welcoming hospitality, and years of tradition that make Tuckahoe Inn such a memorable destination.
Finally, no list of Upper Township favorites would feel complete without Village Kitchen. Some restaurants simply become part of your childhood, and Village Kitchen is exactly that for me.
