Summer has finally come swinging into South Jersey. With the kids now out on summer break, it’s the perfect time to plan those family outings and playdates to keep them busy and happy all season long. Between long beach days ending with sandy toes and boardwalk night hangs, there are plenty of other fun activities right in our area to keep them entertained and making memories too.
To help busy parents plan some adventures, we put together a list of fun activities the kids can indulge in this season. Here are our seven must-visit spots this summer that the whole family can enjoy!
Storybook Land
An iconic landmark that people travel near and far to visit is luckily right in our backyard. Storybook Land is the perfect place to take the kids, let them run around, enjoy rides, grab some snacks, and spend a full day having family-friendly fun. Between the roller coasters, storybook sights, other kids running around, and rides of all sizes, it’s a great stop for all ages to enjoy.

OC Aqua Park
Think bouncy house, but on the water. Located in Ocean City, this is the only inflatable water obstacle course on the island, complete with slides, monkey bars, diving boards, climbing features, and so much more. With lifeguards on duty, the park is designed for kids ages 6 and up, with designated splash sessions available for younger children as well. Water, activities, and bouncy fun are calling for your kids this summer, and they are sure to have a blast.

Cape May County Park & Zoo
Looking for something a little more chill but still sure to impress the kids? Take them to the Cape May County Park & Zoo. Free to enter, families can walk through and admire all the incredible animals that call the zoo home. Grab some souvenirs and treats to keep everyone fed and happy while enjoying a day filled with sights, sounds, and family fun. Any zoo makes for a great day trip, and ours is no different.

AC Aquarium
Much like the zoo, but a little more on theme for summer. The Atlantic City Aquarium recently reopened and is better than ever, just in time for the season. Walk through the space, let the kids wander up close to the glass to see these amazing animals, and parents can thank us later for the air conditioning. With interactive exhibits throughout, the kids will never be bored exploring everything the aquarium has to offer.

The Yard
A spot for the kids to run around and play without making your car a mess afterwards. The Yard in Ocean City is a newer feature to our favorite family resort. Kids can climb, play, jump and run in the ultimate aerial netted outdoor playground. There are also simulators where the kids can virtually experience 20 different sports. It’s the ultimate kid zone for a fun day of play or a summer birthday party.

Morey’s Pier
Nothing screams summer quite like heading down to Wildwood and enjoying the day at Morey’s Pier. From the expansive amusement rides to the water park haven, Morey’s is the place every kid wants to spend a summer day. Head down for the day or make it a weekend staycation! The kids will love every aspect of it.

Funny Farm
Another chance to see some animals, and this time, feed them! At the Funny Farm in Mays Landing, visitors can interact with and feed hundreds of different animals. Known as a rescue and sanctuary, the Funny Farm is home to animals of all kinds, from cats to emus and everything in between. It’s the perfect place for kids to get up close with animals they normally wouldn’t encounter, all while supporting a great cause and exerting some energy this summer.
