For decades, Fitzpatrick’s Deli has been a staple in Somers Point, serving up hearty breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and the kind of hometown hospitality that keeps generations of families coming back. For many locals, myself included, a trip to Fitzpatrick’s is more than just a meal; it’s a tradition.

Growing up, I can remember enjoying a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant on Sunday mornings before begging my dad for one of their famous chocolate chip cookies on the way out. Years later, not much has changed. When my family is craving delicious food and friendly service, Fitzpatrick’s Deli is still one of our first choices.

Summer weekends in Somers Point can be hectic. Between beachgoers heading to Ocean City and visitors exploring the Jersey Shore, finding a place to eat and a place to park can be challenging. Fortunately, Fitzpatrick’s offers a spacious parking lot with additional parking across the street, making it an easy stop before a day at the beach.

During our recent visit, we were greeted warmly and seated right away. A quick look at the menu and daily specials was all it took for everyone at the table to make their decision. One of the best things about Fitzpatrick’s? Breakfast is served all day, making it easy to satisfy both breakfast and lunch cravings.

My mother opted for her go-to favorite: a classic cheeseburger. Cooked perfectly and topped with melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, and fresh tomato, it was everything a diner-style burger should be. One bite in, she was hooked. In fact, she’s still talking about it days later.

The egg white veggie omelet special at Fitzpatrick’s Deli is loaded with mushrooms, peppers, spinach, and feta cheese, and served with turkey bacon, toast, and fresh fruit—a hearty breakfast that’s available all day long.

My husband and I both gravitated toward one of the breakfast specials: the egg white veggie omelet served with turkey bacon, toast, and fresh fruit. The generous portion arrived packed with mushrooms, peppers, spinach, and feta cheese. Paired with rye toast and a side of sweet, ripe fruit, it was a filling and flavorful meal that didn’t leave us feeling weighed down.

While waiting for our check, we took a moment to admire one of the things that makes Fitzpatrick’s so special: the old-school deli counter in the back. Stocked with deli favorites, baked goods, and those legendary chocolate chip cookies, it feels like stepping back into a classic neighborhood delicatessen. It’s the perfect place to grab lunch to-go before heading to the beach, boating, or exploring the Shore.

Many families throughout Atlantic County have grown up eating at Fitzpatrick’s Deli. When longtime owner Jim Fitzpatrick announced his retirement, locals were thrilled to learn that the business would remain in the family. Today, his son is carrying on the tradition, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy the quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service that have made Fitzpatrick’s a Somers Point favorite for decades.

Whether you’re looking for an all-day breakfast, a satisfying lunch, or a taste of local tradition, Fitzpatrick’s Deli remains one of the best places to eat in Somers Point.
