There is something Bob and I have learned over the years, whether we’re here at the Jersey Shore or traveling somewhere new: If you want the best experience, ask a local.
Locals know where to find the best breakfast, the hidden beach access, the family-owned restaurant worth the drive and the businesses that consistently go above and beyond. They know what makes a community special.
That simple idea inspired the Shore Local Locals Choice Awards.
Each week, we have the privilege of sharing stories about the people, businesses and organizations that make our region unique. This year, we turned the spotlight over to you and asked readers to tell us who stands out in our community.
The response was extraordinary.
More than 1,000 public nominations were submitted across 103 categories. After two rounds of voting, 48,018 votes were cast by residents and visitors eager to support their favorites.
The Locals Choice Awards recognize the businesses, professionals and organizations that have earned the trust and loyalty of our community. They are the restaurants people recommend, the service providers they rely on and the local businesses that help make everyday life better.
As a locally owned publication, celebrating these success stories is at the heart of what we do. Shore Local was founded on the belief that our communities deserve to be recognized — from well-known landmarks to hidden gems, family-owned businesses and rising stars.
For many recipients, this recognition represents more than a contest result. It reflects the appreciation of customers, neighbors and friends who value their hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence.
In the pages that follow, you will find this year’s winners — our Locals Favorites — along with the runners-up recognized as Locals Top Choice selections.
Congratulations to every business, organization and individual who was nominated, recognized or selected as a winner. Your commitment to excellence helps make our shore communities stronger, more vibrant and more welcoming places to live, work and visit.
And thank you to everyone who participated. The locals have spoken.
