If you’re looking for an excuse to dress up and enjoy a memorable evening out, Carmella’s in Mays Landing should be at the top of your list. Grab your spouse, a few friends, or make it a date night, and step into one of the area’s most beautiful dining destinations. With sparkling chandeliers, elegant décor, and a warm atmosphere, Carmella’s offers an experience that feels both sophisticated and inviting.
As the restaurant prepares to celebrate its first anniversary, it continues to establish itself as a standout destination for authentic Italian cuisine.

Our server, Kylie Yanta, shared a bit about what makes Carmella’s special.
“It’s owned by Chef Michael Graber,” says Yanta. “Everything here is homemade, made from scratch, all our pasta and gluten-free options.”
Chef Graber’s experience in Italy is evident throughout the menu. From freshly made pasta to rich, flavorful sauces, every dish reflects the passion and dedication that have become the heart of Carmella’s charm.
We began our meal with the Scampi Risotto, featuring three jumbo shrimp atop a creamy, cheesy risotto with bright citrus notes. The sauce was so delicious that I found myself using the complimentary bread to soak up every last bite. It was an incredible start to the evening, and just the beginning.
For my entrée, I chose the Atlantic King Salmon. The generously-sized salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned with a wonderful blend of spices. It was served over diced squash, tomatoes, and cavatelli pasta. My only complaint? I wished there had been even more cavatelli because it was absolutely phenomenal.
My husband immediately gravitated toward the Lobster Ravioli special, and it did not disappoint. Five delicate ravioli stuffed with cheese and lobster were topped with two lobster tails, creating a dish that felt both indulgent and unforgettable. Rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it was worth every bite.
No proper Italian dinner is complete without dessert, so we shared the flourless chocolate cake topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Flourless chocolate cake can sometimes be hit or miss, but at Carmella’s, it was another home run. Beautifully plated, the cake was rich in flavor while maintaining a surprisingly light and airy texture.
As summer approaches and Carmella’s celebrates its first year in business, Yanta expects reservations to become increasingly important as more diners discover this hidden gem.
After one exceptional meal, we already know we’ll be back for another table for two.
