The Ocean City Theatre Company (OCTC) is hosting auditions for its 2025 Junior Company productions on May 3 and 4, 2025. These auditions are open to students entering 5th through 12th grades as of Fall 2025, as well as current high school seniors. Interested students must register for an audition timeslot via oceancitytheatrecompany.com. Advance registration is required.

High school students will have the opportunity to audition for THE PROM: School Edition which will be performed at the Ocean City Music Pier on July 18 and 19. This high-energy musical features four eccentric Broadway stars who find themselves in need of a new stage. When they learn that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they realize it’s time to shine a spotlight on the issue and on themselves. The local parents wish to keep the high school dance traditional, but when one student wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town faces a pivotal moment. On a mission to transform lives, Broadway’s boldest join forces with a courageous girl and the town’s citizens, resulting in a love that unites them all. Winner of the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical, THE PROM: School Edition expertly captures the humor and heart of a classic musical comedy, conveying a message that resonates with audiences now more than ever.

Students in the 5th through 8th grades as of Fall 2025 are eligible to audition for THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL: Youth Edition, which will be performed on August 22 and 23 at the Ocean City Music Pier. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and has become the hottest star on Broadway? It’s SpongeBob SquarePants! This one-hour edition of the hit Broadway musical is brilliantly adapted from the iconic Nickelodeon series.

Auditioners should prepare a 32-bar (approximately 30-second) musical theatre song. No accompanist will be provided, so please have your audition selection ready on a device that can connect to OCTC’s sound system. The audition process will include a dance/movement audition that will be taught on the day of the audition, and some auditioners may be asked to read from the show.
