The 48 Blocks Festival brought art, music, food and community together Sept. 19 at Uptown Park and Fisherman’s Park in Atlantic City.
Presented by the Atlantic City Arts Foundation, the free, all-ages festival showcased the creativity and culture found throughout the city’s neighborhoods. The eight-hour celebration featured public art, live music, artist demonstrations, local vendors, food pop-ups and mural tours.
Artists shared their work and creative process with visitors, while musicians provided live entertainment throughout the day. Local businesses, community organizations and vendors also participated, giving attendees opportunities to shop, eat and learn more about the people and groups serving Atlantic City.
The festival highlighted the distinctive character of Atlantic City and the role the arts play in connecting its neighborhoods. Mural tours offered a closer look at public artwork displayed throughout the city, while demonstrations allowed guests to watch artists at work.
Named for Atlantic City’s 48-block footprint, the annual festival brings residents, visitors, artists and community partners together through shared creative experiences.
The event gave attendees of all ages an opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and flavors of Atlantic City while supporting local artists, businesses and organizations.
