The next generation of inventors, engineers, and problem-solvers took center stage at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City’s STEAM Fair, held March 25 at Drexel Club and March 27 at Chelsea Club. The two-day event showcased the creativity and critical thinking skills of club members engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) programs.

Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City CEO Tracey Triniwell gets a tour of K-2 STEAM projects from some of the young innovators.

From robot coding to wind turbines and petri dish experiments, the fair was a hands-on celebration of innovation. Attendees were captivated by projects such as a transformer-style robot with spinning wheels, a Lego-built Venus flytrap designed to “catch” objects, and a robotic dog that moved like a real pet. Club members enthusiastically explained their work, demonstrating the problem-solving and technical skills they’ve developed in the Club’s STEAM Lab.

“This wasn’t just an opportunity to show off what they’ve learned—it was a moment of pride for our students,” said Mia Williams, STEAM Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. “They didn’t just build projects; they built confidence, resilience, and a belief in their ability to shape the future.”

The STEAM Lab provides club members with access to cutting-edge technology and hands-on learning experiences designed to foster curiosity and critical thinking. With the support of donors and the community, the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City continues to expand these opportunities, ensuring that students are not only prepared for the future but ready to innovate and lead.
