Weather with Nor’easter Nick

By Nick Pittman

The two big headlines seem to be how active the tropics have become and how abnormally warm our weather has been. Yes – it’s true on both fronts. We are now up to Lorenzo with our storms. Most of them you probably haven’t heard about because they’ve been “fish storms”. Dorian is the only one that significantly impacted anyone. The rest? Not really much to talk about. Mind you we are still technically at the peak of hurricane season so though nothing has impacted us, it doesn’t mean we are totally out of the woods.

On the warm weather front, we probably won’t see temperatures return to normal and stay there for at least another 10 days. We’ve got a strong area of high pressure in control of our pattern. We will continue to see 80° days. The latest 80° recorded in our area was November 15th of 78, so there is precedent for it. We call it “never ending summer”! Stay cool!
