Legacy Concerts on the Beach – Sept. 5, 7 p.m.

The Legacy Concert Series on the beach will close out the summer season with a special night Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m., as the Tony Mart Allstars perform alongside South Jersey favorites Lew London, Patty Blee, Dr. Bobby Fingers and Howard Isaacson.

The show will be dedicated to Herb “Bubba Mac” Birch, founder of the Bubba Mac Shack. The evening will also begin with a posthumous tribute to Somers Point rock ’n’ roll icon Bob Campanell, with members of the Campanell family performing one of his beloved songs.

The concert promises a nostalgic journey through more than 40 years of South Jersey music history. London will play his fiddle on “Orange Blossom Special” and other tunes from his many years at The Library and other clubs. Blee will lend her vocal talents in a tribute to Linda Ronstadt. Isaacson is set to perform his smooth jazz hit “Daylight” and Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On,” a longtime Allstars staple featuring Campanell and Ernie Trionfo.

Other highlights include Jimmy Glenn performing Bruce Springsteen’s “Rosalita,” Brian Conover with Conway Twitty and The Eagles’ “Desperado,” and “Big Bob” Ernano with “Rocky Mountain Way” and “Whipping Post.” London will also join Brian Varhelyi for a guitar jam.

Dr. Bobby Fingers will lead a beach-wide singalong with Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” before closing the night with the music of Bob Dylan and The Band.

After 2½ hours of nonstop music and dancing, the celebration will continue at Tavern on the Bay, courtesy of sponsor Sam Trocki, who is donating the venue for the after-party. The post-concert event will feature a Bobby Fingers singalong and appearances by Allstars and friends, keeping the spirit alive well past curfew.

The free beach concert will end around 9:30 p.m., with music continuing next door at the Inn on the Bay. Organizers say it’s not only a way to extend the evening but also a fitting finale to the 2025 summer season in Somers Point.

The Tony Mart Allstars and guest performers thanked Trocki and his team for their hospitality, late-night menu and bar service.

The season closes with gratitude for the music, the memories and the community that made it all possible.

Let the good times roll!
