The Womens Center
Announces Rebranding: AVANZAR

Linwood, NJ – August 2, 2018  – The Women’s Center has announced its new name: AVANZAR.

This dynamic rebranding, including a new logo, is one that more fully represents the Center’s 43-year evolution and enriched Social Justice Services in Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking, Displaced Homemakers, Fatherhood, Early Childhood Education and Dismantling Racism. What started as a 24-hour rape and sexual assault counseling hotline has grown into an agency with over 60 staff, major programs, and a multitude of services. With the addition of new services, the agency has become far more than a shelter.

“Changing the name to AVANZAR, and the organization’s new logo, captures the Center’s mission to empower individuals and families by working to secure their physical safety, emotional well-being, individual freedom, and economic equality. The new name and logo embrace a contemporary mindset,” explained Claudia Ratzlaff, chief executive officer of AVANZAR.

AVANZAR, which means “to move forward” in Spanish, captures the organization’s commitment to serve the broadest community; the logo further represents the Center’s commitment to engage and empower individuals of all races, ethnicities, national origins, ages, gender identities, socioeconomic statuses, religious, sexual orientations, and physical and intellectual abilities. The new tagline,“Safety, Justice, Empowerment”, mirrors AVANZAR’s vision of striving to be the premier Social Justice Agency focused on equitable inclusiveness. The logo’s typeface is timeless, sleek, and embraces the contemporary, yet holistic views of AVANZAR.
