Jon Dorenbos to Bring Football, Magic & Inspiration to Katz JCC’s Sports Night

MARGATE, NJ (August 1, 2018) – Philadelphia football fans will continue celebrating the big Super Bowl win with veteran Eagles long snapper Jon Dorenbos at the Fourth Annual Jackie & Hank Herskowitz Sports Night fundraising event on Thursday, August 16 at 7pm at the Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Avenue in Margate, NJ.

“We’re honored to have this talented former Eagle as our guest speaker at the Katz JCC, especially during this magical time in Philadelphia’s history,” said Jeff Herskowitz, Chairman of the Katz JCC Sports Night fundraising event.  “Jon has a remarkable life story. We’re looking forward to hearing how he used magic to help him overcome a childhood tragedy. I can guarantee that everyone will be motivated and walk away with a smile on their face.”

In 2016, Dorenbos amazed the judges of “America’s Got Talent” with his combination of magic and uplifting stories stemming from his difficult childhood. His unique performances earned him a spot in the finals and a third place finish in the competition among tens of thousands of contestants.
Practicing illusions since the age of 12, Dorenbos is a master magician who incorporates comedy and the love of football into his performances. Audiences experience a deeply personal and engaging show and discover the magic that has shaped Dorenbos’ life. From struggles that turned into successes and lighthearted stories from the Eagles locker room, Dorenbos delivers a night filled with fun, yet insightful storytelling.
Dorenbos played in the NFL for 14 years, 11 of which were with the Philadelphia Eagles. He retired in 2017 after major open-heart surgery but continues his legacy as the host of “Inside the Eagles,” for which he won Emmy Awards in 2008 and 2015.
The JCC’s Sports Night event has been named after the late Jackie & Hank Herskowitz of Margate whose philanthropy helped so many. Their philanthropic legacy will continue with the Fourth Annual Jackie & Hank Herskowitz Sports Night fundraising event, which raises money for its scholarship fund to further its mission to provide the children and seniors of Atlantic County, as well as the community as a whole, programs and services that enhance and enrich their lives.
General Admission for Sports Night is one ticket for $200 or two tickets for $375 and includes dinner, open bar, and a silent & live auction. Ticket packages and sponsorship opportunities are available and include a VIP Meet and Greet with Jon Dorenbos during the reception.
Generous sponsors include SPO Capital Investments, Kingsway Realty Company, Legacy Assets, Surety Title and Fox Rothschild.
