The Surfing Pig, creator and sponsor of “The Wildwoods Greatest Treasure Hunt 2023,” hosted a public happy hour to introduce a three-month experience that will result in the restaurant giving away of a total of $15,000. The launch event brought South Jersey visitors and residents together to enjoy The Surfing Pig’s well-known and sought-out food, beverages, and atmosphere, while gaining the details needed to potentially win $5,000 each month from June through August. Those in attendance gained a head-start for the June treasure hunt.
The Surfing Pig is sponsoring the treasure hunt to celebrate the resilience of The Wildwoods community and give back to the vacationers, residents, and others whose loyalty continues to support its businesses and attractions. In June, July, and August, a treasure hunt leads participants in search of a key that unlocks $5,000 kept safely at the restaurant. Participants will be given clues as to the location of the key, which will be hidden in Wildwood Crest, Wildwood, or North Wildwood. Clues will be released via The Surfing Pig’s social media accounts starting at noon the first Friday of each month. Clues will continue to be released weekly (or more frequently at the discretion of The Surfing Pig) until the key is found and the finder follows instruction to claim their prize at The Surfing Pig.
In addition, each Thursday, people can attend happy hour at The Surfing Pig to gain a treasure hunt advantage that will allow them to receive the weekly clue via email three hours ahead of social media posts. If the key is not found—resulting in the $5,000 prize not being claimed—by the last day of the month, the prize money will rollover into the prize total for the following month.
