The Stars Are “Galactic” on AC Boardwalk this Summer
With the exciting, recent announcement of one of New Orleans hottest popular international jam funk bands, Galactic, coming to a free show at Mardi Gras AC on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, Wednesday, August 7th and the June 26 appearance of Dumpstaphunk starring Ivan Neville, the Crown Prince of New Orleans Funk, and Blues, you can truly see the stars for free at Mardi Gras AC this summer.
The tremendously impressive free concert series starts every Wednesday, 7PM, June 19 through September 4th, 12 consecutive shows begin when “The World’s Greatest Bar Band”, multi award winners, “The Nighthawks“ are joined by the incredible, irreverent boogie-woogie piano and comedy of the Reverend Billy C Wirtz plus the world class 11 piece Steely Dan Tribute, “Countdown to Ecstasy”, one of the best you’ll ever see.
Performing on June 26 at Mardi Gras AC, Ivan Neville and Dumpstaphunk are recognized as one of the greatest New Orleans R&B Funk bands in the world, today, appearing with the Rolling Stones at the rescheduled Stones concert in New Orleans later this summer.
The stars continue to shine on the Boardwalk, July 3 when the saxophone star of the cult Rock ‘n’ Roll classic movie, “Eddie & the Cruisers” performs with the Tony Mart Allstars. That show “The Music that Made Tony Mart’s Famous“ will feature Michael “Tunes“ Antunes who created and recorded the famous songs from the cult classic movie, “Dark Side”, “Tender Years”, and “Wild Summer Nights”.
On July 10 see a rare East Coast appearance of the gold record recording artist, Maria Muldaur, performing traditional New Orleans, Americana and Blues/Roots Rock along with her famous hit song, “Midnight at the Oasis“.
