ATLANTIC CITY — Monica Lewinsky stunned the audience of women into silence who filled the Theater at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City which was the venue for the 26th annual Atlantic County Women’s Forum, last Thursday, June 9th.

As Lewinsky began to speak to the women the room went silent as she describe her life.  “Overnight, I went from being a completely private person to a publicly humiliated one, worldwide,” she said.

Lewinsky, in a moment of humor remarked “My name appears in more than 125 rap songs without me getting any royalties,” as she smiled.

Lewinsky’s health problems have been no secret and because of those problems she went on a self imposed disappearance from the public view, for a considerable time. “But by and large, I had been alone, so very alone, publicly alone. Did I make mistakes? Sure, we can all agree on that, but swimming in that sea of loneliness, that was terrifying.”

Lewinsky so impressed the audience that no one in the room made a sound. Many of the attendees could be overheard saying that the impression they had of Lewinsky before the speech, has turned 180 degrees to one of admiration for her now and how she handled her public persona.

It was an outstanding event for the Women’s Forum over the last twenty-six years it has raised more the $2 million dollars for local area charities.
