The National Rhythm & Blues Music Society Inc. presents The Atlantic City Walk of Fame and Induction Ceremony at Brighton Park, 1801 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ.
Our third Unveiling and Induction Ceremony will take place on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Brighton Park across the street from the Claridge Hotel.
The Inductees to be honored are The R&B/Pop recording artist The Manhattans. They have received a Grammy Award, and multiple gold and platinum RIAA Records. Their songs “Kiss and Say Goodbye,” recorded in 1976, and 1980’s “Shining Star,” both sold millions of copies.
The Manhattans have recorded 45 hits on the Billboard R&B Chart, including twelve top-10 R&B hits in the United States, starting in 1965. Sixteen of their songs have reached the Billboard Hot 100, including two top 10s and a number one hit with their song “Kiss and Say Goodbye.”
They also charted eight U.S. R&B Top 20 albums and performed in Atlantic City numerous times.
Scheduled to appear to accept on behalf of The Manhattans, is the last remaining member of their hit making era, Gerald Alston.
The National Rhythm & Blues Music Society Inc., is looking forward to inducting these legendary artists into the Atlantic City Walk of Fame.
The unveiling ceremony event time is 12:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
Our 2023 Inaugural Induction Ceremony Honorees included: James Brown, Little Anthony & The Imperials, The Delfonics and Grover Washington Jr.
This past April, we inducted Dionne Warwick and The Chi-Lites.
