Somers Point School Board Recognized by City Council during School Board Appreciation Month

January is School Board Appreciation Month in New Jersey and Somers Point’s City Council passed a resolution at last week’s City Council meeting to give local members of the board of education their moment in the sun. This is an opportunity to raise awareness of the roles and responsibilities of our local board of education and to thank school board of members for their hard work in educating our children.

“As city council members, we know firsthand that holding locally elected offices can be a thankless job. That’s why we are taking this time to thank Somers Point’s School Board members for their hard work ensuring that ALL Somers Point students are learning and receiving the educational support they need,” said City Council President Janice Johnston.

Somers Point Board of Education members were invited to attend the city council meeting. School board members include:

  • Board President Staci Endicott
  • Board Vice President Heather Samuelson
  • Nicholas Wagner
  • John Conover
  • Kathleen Dolton, PT, DPT, PCS
  • Judson Moore
  • Alice Myers, Ph-D.
  • Karen Tomasello

During the meeting, Johnston read from the resolution passed by city council as well as from a proclamation issued by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, recognizing January as School Board Appreciation Month in New Jersey.
