The city paid tribute to America’s fallen service members during its annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, May 26.

Hundreds of residents lined Shore Road as the American Legion Riders led a procession south through the city. The parade featured patriotic performances by the Mainland Regional High School marching band and included appearances by the Mustangs Rowing Team and representatives from AMVETS.

Following the parade, a commemorative ceremony took place at Patriots Park. Local officials and dignitaries joined members of the community to reflect on the meaning of the day.

This year’s keynote speaker, U.S. Coast Guard member Mark Hindle, spoke about the importance of remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. His remarks served as a reminder that Memorial Day is not just a day to have fun, but a solemn occasion to honor the fallen.

The event continues to serve as a tradition in Somers Point uniting the community in gratitude and remembrance.
