Shore to Offer Free Lung Cancer Screenings for Eligible Current or Past Smokers

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, but early detection can significantly increase the chances of successful treatment. Shore Medical Center, a proud member of the Penn Cancer Network, is committed to detecting lung cancer early when it is most treatable and is offering free lung cancer screenings for eligible individuals, with consultations held on Saturday, March 29 at Shore Cancer Center from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Shore Physicians Group Primary Care Physician Dr. Maria Cerna will conduct the consultations. Following the consultation, eligible participants will be scheduled for a Low Dose CT scan, a proven method for detecting lung cancer at its earliest and most treatable stages. The scans will be performed free of charge at Advanced Shore Imaging Associates in Northfield at a later date at the individual’s convenience.

Low Dose CT screenings are recommended for individuals aged 50 to 80 who are current smokers or have quit within the past 15 years. Those who meet these criteria and wish to take advantage of this potentially life-saving screening should call 609-653-3923 to schedule an appointment.

Shore Medical Center is proud to partner with Advanced Shore Imaging Associates and Shore Physicians Group to offer this critical service at no cost to participants.
