Seniors at Seashore Living enjoy fall crafts

Apples, sunflowers, and painted pictures were all part of the September sessions for the Golden Sunflowers Group at Seashore Gardens Living Center. The residents made decorative paper apples with positive sayings to hang on little trees. They learned about sunflowers, and then painted pictures with naturally made ink.

Golden Sunflowers is a therapeutic gardening group that meets regularly at SGLC. The benefits of therapeutic horticulture are numerous and include social interaction, improving motor skills, elevating mood, reducing agitation, and improving self-esteem. The Golden Sunflowers program is funded by Seashore Gardens Foundation.

Residents painted pictures using naturally made ink.
The seniors hung their apples on little trees to be displayed in the Home.
The seniors enjoyed creating beautiful, natural artwork that evoked the fall colors.
