Seashore Gardens seniors enjoy horticultural therapy

Seniors made peppermint lip balm in their December Golden Sunflowers group at Seashore Gardens Living Center. The seniors used a bee’s wax base, and residents learned about all the qualities of the wax and how it differs from petroleum lip balm.

Golden Sunflowers is a therapeutic gardening group that meets regularly at SGLC. The benefits of therapeutic horticulture are numerous and include social interaction, improving motor skills, elevating mood, reducing agitation, and improving self-esteem. The Golden Sunflowers program is funded by Seashore Gardens Foundation.
