Empowering Young Women through Partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City
Project Prom is gearing up for its annual pop-up shop event from March 8-10, 2025, at Kensington Furniture, 200 Tilton Rd., Northfield, N.J. For the tenth year, the non-profit is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City (ACBGC) to provide young women in Atlantic County with the tools they need to shine—inside and out.
Project Prom and ACBGC are calling for donations of gently used prom dresses (especially larger sizes) and accessories to help make prom night unforgettable for every girl, regardless of financial circumstances. Donations will be accepted through February 24 at these drop-off locations:
- Berkshire Hathaway: 9218 Ventnor Ave., Margate
- JCC Margate: 501 N. Jerome Ave., Margate
- Esthetica: 1205 Tilton Rd., Northfield
For over a decade, Project Prom has been more than a source of beautiful dresses—it’s been a source of confidence and empowerment for hundreds of girls. As Rene Kane, the event’s chair and co-founder, passionately explains: “It’s more than just a dress—it’s a chance to feel confident, radiant, and ready to take on the world.”
The success of Project Prom is a testament to the unwavering support of the community, volunteers, and sponsors. Volunteers from the Boys & Girls Club help orchestrate the event, and the Club will have a table at the event with information about ACBGC and Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) programs and services. In addition, SOJO 104.9 brings energy and entertainment with live music. Rene Kane & Company provides vital promotional materials, and Kensington Furniture transforms its store into a glamorous boutique with 12 personalized fitting rooms for an unforgettable shopping experience.
Since 2014, Project Prom has touched the lives of countless young women, ensuring that financial challenges never dim the magic of prom night. To learn more or get involved, visit https://projectpromac.com/.
